Oh Laduree

My first taste of Laduree macaroons. In fact, these are my first taste ever of a macaroon - starting with the best! Orange blossom (left) and salted caramel (right).

Living Art

Literally home-grown art at The National Gallery - a massive eco installation.

London Bound

So, we're en route to the capital!

Posting will be understandably sporadic and picture heavy but I'll update with some proper blogging on our return.

For now, if you don't already, follow The Tiny Atelier on Twitter and Instagram for a live feed of what I'm getting up to in LDN.

Model/Photographer

There's only a certain longevity to being a model, so after ten years of walking and posing Slovakia born and Paris based Robert Jaso turned to the other side of the camera.

Jaso spent several years honing his photographic style to create signature images that are part beautiful, part quirky.

After being an in-demand model he's now an in-demand photographer with editorials for Vogue, Glamour, Grazia and Harpers Bazaar under his belt as well as campaigns for Shiseido, L'oreal, Matthew Williamson, De Beers, Wella, Schwarzkopf and Oasis.

Seven Deadly Rings For Seven Deadly Sins

So, I'll admit this is a little behind the times as these Stephen Webster creations were actually released in late 2010 but I just 're-found' the images and had to share:

Eiffel Tower Vs Luggage Tower

Art Meets Math Meets Fashion

If Lady Gaga's looking for her next pair of shoes she should look no further than footwear designer Andreia Chaves.

"The fact that I grew up in a chaotic city like Sao Paulo, full of contrasts, being in contact with such diversity and constant exposure to different visual inputs, has inspired me in how I think and conceptualize my shoes. Looking at my work, I can clearly see influence coming from my South American sense of versatility.  Also in the mix - what I have been experiencing in Europe."

Steampunk Zebra

Stumbled upon this illustration titled 'Steampunk' - ♥ the blend of feminine and masculine. From what I could translate from her blog, Les Rayures Du Zebra, the artist is called Marion.

As If!

While the guys at ARDOOR have utilised Kinect technology to create this virtual fitting room for Topshop's Moscow flagship store, isn't it just a little reminscent of a certain 1990s film and the heroine's closet?

Food Envy

After a week of buying only the bare essentials and using up everything from our fridge and freezer (one meal was naan bread pizza!) after tonight's feast of soup (made with a frozen carton of soup, fresh tomato sauce, cherry toms, broccoli and a carrot) and warm bread, I will officially be out of food I can make a meal with and the cycle of overstocking the freezer will be begin again.

In the mean time, I'm getting some serious food envy from these images found via:

Abandoning Little People On The Streets Since 2006

I think it was about 5 years ago that I first came across this artist and I have no recollection as to how. Since then I've popped along to his blog every so often and thought I'd share some of my favourites from a certain aspect of his work.

Via the guise Slinkachu, the artist runs The Little People Project. The concept? Creating miniature 'realities' in inner-city areas using model train people. Often these installations will make a comment on society or reflect on everyday incidents in 'real life' and will then be left in place.

Paddington Doorway - 2006

Coke - 2007
An installation from the Eleven exhibition at Leonard St Gallery in London, the £5 had to be replaced twice and then the whole thing got swiped (including the cornflower!)

Life As We Know It - 2008
Installation for the Trespass Alliance Show

Bingo Hall - 2009
Installation for Tunnel 228, an art/theatre show run by The Old Vic and Punch Drunk held within old disused tunnels under Waterloo Station

 Glory -2010

The Last Resort - 2011

Since the little people tend to pop up in London, keep your eyes peeled next time you're making the daily commute - if you take a second to look down you don't know what Little People you might find.
