Following a comment on my Jenny Longworth post I have found a cool new blog which blends fashion with nail art!
Nailing The Runway is written by a fashion assistant and is described as being a blog about "Runway prints on nails, nails inspired by fashion, nails from Fashion Weeks and nail inspiration".
It all began when Alison was looking at the new Marc by Marc Jacobs collection, specifically the Simone dress
With almost identical colours of nail polish sat on her shelf she figured she'd give it a go, layering stripes of yellow, red, blue and mink over a white base
I decided to use one of Alison's nail decorating techniques and a polka dot design she created for inspiration this weekend.
I based the colours I used on the floral print Topshop trousers I was going to wear
First I painted three coats of a nude (I used H&Ms Caramel - part of a Springtime set) as a base. I then used the tip of one of the prongs on a kirby grip hair slide dipped in polish to create a polka dot effect on each nail. I used Barry M colours - Coral, Black and Indigo. Once it was dry I covered the whole creation in clear topcoat. Looking forward to using this technique for a lot of nail art this summer.
